We are interviewing one of our favorites today, Jenna Rammell from @jennaskitchen! Jenna curated our Mommy Mailbox last year in June 2015 and today we are following up with her again.
Tell us a little bit about you—where are you from originally, where you live now, your family, your professional background, and your current businesses.
HI! I am originally claiming Utah although I've lived all over the U.S. and world! We currently reside in Southern California with our family and we love it here. We have two boys ages 7 and 4 and a baby girl age 1. I originally started in the blogging world as a graphic designer and soon found myself on the other side actually doing the blogging with two of my best friends on our children’s lifestyle blog, Small Fry! I started my instagram two years ago sharing my whole recipes and post baby weight loss, @jennaskitchen. Since then I've sold my meal guides and built a doTERRA essential oil business through that platform!
Give us some tips on balancing your business and your family.
The best advice I can give, keep in mind that this is something I struggle at constantly, is to plan. I have to keep a meticulous calendar in order to accomplish the things I need to both at work and at home. It's not perfect either but planning helps alleviate a lot of the stress.
We have loved watching your motherhood journey throughout the past few years on social media; tell us how you have evolved and changed as your children have grown.
My children have given me the gift of patience and self-love. While I am growing older and fluffier around the edges, they continue to help me see what life really is about. They give me such a grounding perspective each day and are the reason why I do what I do.
Who is your role model and why?
My mom. She is an educator and worked all my life. I get my work ethic from her. She never breathes an unkind word, is the hardest worker, has great faith and is willing to sacrifice whatever it takes for the good of her family. She is my hero and best friend.
